About

Kendall Wrightson is a designer and artist whose work is based focused on the division and intersection of art and design disciplines, examining the production methods and value systems that inform views and/or uses.Trained as a furniture designer and crafts person, she employ traditional making techniques and new processes to speak to craft and how it is viewed in our contemporary society. By using familiar materials and techniques, she speaks to making as a process that imbued with elements of the hand. whether it be ceramic 3D printing or crochet, the work highlights irregularity within a uniform system.By creating domestic objects in an exploratory method of using machine and hand in combination with one another, her works asks itself to be defined by its context.

Kendall Wrightson received her BFA in Furniture design from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA in Designed objects from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
